Postdoctoral Fellow in Immunology at the Ragon Institute of MGH, MIT and Harvard : Cambridge, MA, United States
Summary:
The Porichis Laboratory (http://ragoninstitute.org/portfolio-item/porichis/ ) at the Ragon Institute of MGH, MIT and Harvard at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston has an opening for a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to study CD4 T cell immunology at the setting of HIV infection. The person hired will work under the supervision of Dr. Porichis conducting patient-oriented translational research involving cutting-edge technologies including transcriptional and immunologic profiling of CD4 T cell responses in HIV infection.
Qualifications:
A Ph.D and/or M.D. with a solid background in cellular immunology, transcriptional profiling and/or functional characterization of CD4 T cells is preferred. Strong background on CD4 T cell help/interactions to B cells is highly preferred. Knowledge of chronic viral infections in mouse models is welcome. Candidates should be highly motivated and independent, with the ability to work in a dynamic team environment. They should have exceptional organizational skills and strong oral and written communications skills.
Job Duties:
The applicant will independently carry out activities performing laboratory research. Duties include:
• Guiding research projects through experimental design, conducting experiments, and analyzing data
• Maintaining detailed documentation of experimental work
• Presenting data within and outside of the laboratory group at meetings and symposia
• Maintaining close communications with PI regarding progress
• Writing, editing, and submitting manuscripts/abstracts detailing the results of the project
Minimum degree and field of knowledge: PhD and/or MD
Years experience required: At least 3 years of doctoral research experience. 0 – 2 years’ experience after Ph.D. graduation
