英国伦敦大学玛丽女王学院招聘博士后微血管研究助理
Post-Doctoral Research Assistant : London, United Kingdom
William Harvey Research Institute
Post-Doctoral Research Assistant
(Ref: QMUL 5932)
Fixed Term Contract up to 3 years
The Centre for Microvascular Research is an internationally recognised group headed by Professor Sussan Nourshargh, investigating molecular interactions that mediate and regulate inflammatory and vascular events within the microcirculation. The Centre has established expertise in the field of leukocyte trafficking as investigated using a multidisciplinary approach but with significant emphasis on the application of cutting edge imaging modalities. It offers newly refurbished laboratories, excellent imaging facilities and is located in the heart of City of London.
Applications are invited for an MRC funded 3 year Postdoctoral Research Assistant position in a group led by Dr. Tom Nightingale working on the intracellular trafficking of adhesion molecules in endothelial cells that allow for leukocyte recruitment and extravasation. The goal will be to characterise intracellular trafficking pathways and to highlight new machinery that may in turn serve to regulate leukocyte function. Close collaboration will occur with the other existing groups in the Centre for Microvascular Research. Candidates should be highly motivated and have a PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular/Cellular Biology or a related area. Experience in molecular biology, intracellular trafficking, biochemistry, immunology and imaging is preferable.
The post is full-time and fixed term for 3 years. Starting salary will be in the range of £31,735 -£33,476 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days’ annual leave, defined benefit pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
Informal enquiries should be addressed to Mr Andy Vaughan (a.vaughan@qmul.ac.uk).
