Postdoctoral Associate (acute myeloid leukemia)
The Department of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine seeking Postdoctoral Associate interested in acute myeloid leukemia research for a lab located at Texas Children’s Cancer Center. Research projects are focused on understanding mechanisms of chemotherapy resistance, through gene expression and functional studies. The fellow should be proficient in basic research methods including cell culture, flow cytometry, western blotting, drug toxicity assays, and standard molecular biology techniques. The successful candidate also will have expertise in epigenetics, or will be willing to become an expert in epigenetic regulation in cancer cells. Experience and/or interest in mouse xenografts and mouse bone marrow transplantation is also desired. As the fellow will be working with primary clinical samples, the ability to maintain organized and thorough notebook documentation is necessary. The fellow will be expected to give oral presentations and write manuscripts and grant applications, so good communication skills are also required.
Requires Ph.D. in related field.
