Job Description
Required Qualifications: PhD with specialization in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics or related area. Experience in C or C++ programming. Previous publication in peer-reviewed journals.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with next-generation sequencing bioinformatics and quantitative methods for analysis of high-throughput biological data. First authored publication(s) in peer-reviewed journals.
Brief Description of Duties: The Postdoctoral Associate will assist the Principal Investigator in the department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics. The incumbent will conduct research and ensure that all experiments are appropriately conducted following the policies and procedures of Stony Brook University.
- Development and implementation of methods for analysis of next-generation sequencing data from immunoglobulin sequences.
- Modeling and quantitative analysis of the mutation process.
- Participate and assist in writing grants.
- Preparing manuscripts for publication in scientific journals and/or presentations.
- Attend scientific conferences.
- Other duties as assigned.
