The Carter lab at The Jackson Laboratory is seeking a postdoctoral associate in computational genomics and systems biology. Our group is developing novel computational methods to infer biological models from large-scale data. This position has a specific focus on understanding the molecular regulation of mammalian meiosis using a variety of genetic and genomic approaches in collaboration with a diverse team of researchers.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. (or equivalent degree) in quantitative biology or another quantitative discipline such as computer science, physics, or applied mathematics. Experience in gene expression, DNA binding, and sequence analysis is strongly recommended, and applicants must have a commitment to solving biological problems and good communication skills. Experience with scientific programming languages including R, C/C++, Rudy, Perl or Java is recommended. Expertise in the biology of meiosis is desired but not required.
