Seeking a motivated individual to serve as a Research Scientist in a new biotechnology company, GlycoBac, LLC (http://www.glycobac.com/), created to refine and commercialize glycoengineered baculovirus-insect cell platforms developed in the Jarvis lab at the University of Wyoming (http://www.uwyo.edu/molecbio/faculty-and-staff/don-jarvis/). The successful candidate will contribute to an overall team effort to create and characterize new baculovirus-insect cell systems that can be used to produce recombinant glycoproteins with humanized glycosylation profiles, as well as other glycoengineering efforts supported by the NIH SBIR program. You will work independently to develop and apply new glycoengineered baculovirus-insect cell systems for production of vaccines, therapeutic antibodies, and other recombinant glycoproteins for direct biomedical applications and basic studies on how N-glycan structure impacts their clinical efficacy and structural biology.
Minimal qualifications: Ph.D. and training in laboratory methods in Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Virology, Glycobiology, Cell Biology, or a related field; primary publications in refereed English language journals; strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred qualifications: working laboratory experience in methods of molecular biology, virology, and/or glycobiology, recombinant DNA technology, baculovirus-insect cell systems, protein expression and purification, carbohydrate analysis, vaccine development, and/or therapeutic antibody development.
