Postdoctoral Research Assistant – ACHE HTA Programme Coordinator (116222)

Grade 7: Salary in the range of £30,434 – £33,242 per annum

We are seeking to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Assistant to take responsibility for the operational management and delivery of the NIHR HTA funded Programme: “Introducing Standardized and Evidence Based Thresholds for Hip and Knee Replacement Surgery, based in the Botnar Research Centre, Oxford. The programme aims to develop a standardized NHS framework for identifying patients for hip and knee replacement surgery using safe and equitable thresholds using The Arthroplasty Candidacy Help Engine (The ACHE tool).

You will be responsible for planning and conducting statistical analyses and high quality research, publish and disseminate research findings as well as maintain an up-to-date awareness of relevant research publications. Likewise you will provide high level programme management support to the principal investigator and establish, coordinate and service programme advisory groups while ensuring compliance with protocol guidelines and research governance.

You will have (or be close to completing) a Doctoral degree relating to health service research or musculoskeletal sciences, previous experience with research project management as well as experience with developing or validating measurement instruments. Likewise you will have excellent communication skills and evidence of strong analytical skills. Experience with conducting qualitative research and with epidemiological methods, willingness to travel both within the UK and abroad to conduct research and a clinical background would be desirable.

This is a full time fixed-term appointment until 30 November 2016.
