Job Description
A post-doctoral researcher is sought for research characterizing particle adhesion and particle transport in fluids and gels. This project seeks to understand how natural particles, such as pollens that have unique nanoscale features, are transported in fluids and gels. Novel particles will be engineered through biomimicry of natural particles to develop a medical diagnostic tool for diseases involving mucus layers. The work will be carried out in the School of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA, with Prof. Carson Meredith. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in chemical engineering, materials science, chemistry, physics, mechanical or biomedical engineering or a related field. Experience with rheological characterization, specifically microrheology, is required. Applicants need not have biomedical experience, although this would offer an advantage. The candidate should be able to start work as soon as November 1, 2014, and no later than January 1, 2015. | |
