Job Description
Our laboratory in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking multiple postdoctoral fellows who are enthusiastic for structural and functional studies of proteins and/or nucleic acids involved in mammalian development and tumorigenesis. The laboratory focuses on mechanistic investigation of epigenetic regulation in embryonic stem cells and cancer stem cells, actin cytoskeleton in signal transduction, and virus infection (https://www.bcm.edu/departments/biochemistry-and-molecular-biology/?PMID=8138). One important aspect is to discover and characterize new players involved in these pathways using a set of innovative techniques recently developed in our group.
The laboratory employs a wide spectrum of complementary approaches, including but not limited to, biochemistry, cell biology, X-ray crystallography, high-throughput genome-wide sequencing, bioinformatics and computer-assisted drug discovery. We have access to synchrotron beamlines, home X-ray diffraction system, crystallization robots, Octet RED96 system, animal care facility, flow cytometry core, microarray and high-throughput sequencing core and confocal microscopy facility.
The applicants should have a recent Ph.D. degree in biochemistry, protein chemistry, cell biology and/or structural biology. The successful candidates must be highly self-motivated, hard-working and have ambitious scientific goals. Competitive salary and fringe benefit will be provided.
