The University of Chicago, Department of Pathology, is seeking a candidate for the position of Post-Doctoral Scholar beginning immediately. The candidate’s main project will be in the field of RNA-binding proteins and mRNA translation regulation. The project will involve the use of primary and regular cell culture, knockout and transgenic mice, animal models of disease, and characterization of inhibitory peptides as potential therapeutic agents. Biochemistry, molecular biology and immunohistochemistry techniques will be required throughout the investigation. The candidate must be able to independently learn and apply new methodologies as needed for the completion of the project. Familiarity with Adobe and Adobe illustrator is preferred for the preparation of figures. Applicants must have a PhD degree and at least one first author publication.
