PostDoc (m/f) for Biomimetic Colloidal Drug Carriers

The group is working on interdisciplinary and highly innovative projects for using nanocarriers as drug delivery devices in conjunction with the University Clinic of Mainz.
Your tasks
• Synthesis of polymeric drug carriers by modern bioorthogonal polymer synthesis in emulsion
• Detailed colloidal understanding of the drug carriers with advanced analyses methods (scattering techniques, thermo analysis, spectroscopic methods)
• Development, planning and analyses of biomedical relevant drug carriers in close collaboration with biological and medical research partners
• Protein (especially antibody)-modification, handling, and coupling to polymers
• Establishing reliable protocols for syntheses, modification, quantification, application of nanoparticular drug carriers.
Your ideal qualification
• PhD in chemistry, biochemistry or an equivalent education
• Sound knowledge of polymer syntheses, especially colloid science during the doctoral phase.
• Hands-on experience in peptides and protein analyses (mass spectrometry, light scattering, etc.)
• Personally you are open to new challenges, flexible in mind and you like to work independently as well as in a team. You are able to analyze and present data in a concise, easy to understand manner und convince others with your excellent communication skills in English language.
• Mainz is situated in an attractive place centrally located in Germany near Frankfurt/Main with all it beauties ranging from cultural events to wine production.
