Applications are invited for a Research Associate at post-doctoral level to synthesise and characterise new fluorescent organic materials for organic light-emitting device (OLED) and organic solid-state lighting applications. The interdisciplinary project will combine synthetic chemistry and materials characterisation with the aim of probing structure-property relationships. The work will be supervised by Professor Martin R. Bryce. The project is in collaboration with Professor Andrew P. Monkman and Dr Fernando Dias (Department of Physics, Durham University) who will perform detailed photophysical measurements, device fabrication and device testing using the molecules synthesised. This is a full-time, fixed-term Research Associate position to work for up to 36 months.  

Start date of the 1 September 2014, or as soon as possible thereafter.
