POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH SCIENTIST ON GENETICS OF KIDNEYDISEASE – DEVELOPMENTAL GENETICS / FUNCTIONAL MODELING;DIVISION OF NEPHROLOGY, COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY, NEW YORK

Post-doctoral position with secure funding for a minimum of 3 years.

Applications are invited for a Post-Doctoral Researcher to join the Laboratory of Dr. Simone Sanna-Cherchi in the Division of Nephrology, Columbia University Medical Center, New York.
The project involves the study of the genetics of congenital malformations of the kidney and urinary tract in mouse models and humans.
The candidate must hold a Ph.D., M.D.PhD., or M.D., and must have extensive experience in molecular biology techniques, cell culture, and research with rodents. Familiarity with handling large data sets (microarray data, RNA sequencing, human genomic data, etc) and computational/bioinformatics/statistical skills are a plus.
The position is ideal to gain experience in state-of-the art genetic strategies to gene identification in mouse models and humans, to bring forward functional interpretation of novel genetic finding from human studies, and to build expertise to develop independent research.
