德国癌症研究中心分子遗传学博士后招聘
Postdoctoral Scientist (m/f) : Heidelberg, Germany
The German Cancer Research Center is the largest biomedical research institution in Germany. With more than 2,700 employees, we operate an extensive scientific program in the field of cancer research.
The Division of Molecular Genetics is seeking for August 2014 a
Postdoctoral Scientist (m/f)
(Ref-No. 90/2014)
Description:
A position for a postdoctoral scientist is available in our research group at the German Cancer Research Center. Our group is working on tumor metabolism, its effects on tumor growth, patients’ prognosis, and its regulation by epigenetic mechanisms. We recently showed that branched chain amino acids (BCAA) are essential for the growth and survival of brain tumors (Tönjes and Barbus 2013 NatMed; PMID 23793099) as well as other tumor types. The successful candidate will work on elucidating (i) how the BCAAs drive tumor growth and (ii) how these processes are regulated by genetic and epigenetic mechanisms. Hypotheses will be evaluated by gene-specific genetic and functional analyses as well as genome-wide screening approaches using in vitro and animal models. Large -omics data sets are available for the generation of additional working hypotheses in close collaboration with an associated bioinformatics research group.
