Post Doctoral Researcher in Synthetic Biology : Montpellier, France

The synthetic biology group at the Centre de Biochimie Structurale (CBS) in Montpellier, France, is seeking a highly motivated, dynamic, and creative postdoc to engineer genetic circuits enabling living cells to perform programmable sensing and computation. The position will focus on the engineering of synthetic bacterial signalling pathways by coupling in silico design with high-throughput library screening. The successful candidate should have experience in protein engineering, directed evolution and high-throughput screening approaches. Expertise in synthetic biology, gene circuits design and construction, microbiology, or next-generation sequencing are highly appreciated.

The CBS has an outstanding infrastructure covering all techniques for structural biology and biophysics including X-ray crystallography, NMR, cryo-electron microscopy, advanced fluorescent and super-resolution microscopes, single-molecule manipulation, molecular and cell biology, and high-performance computation.

Montpellier is a major biology area with a focus on basic research, biomedicine, plant biology and environmental science.
