Postdoctoral Associate : Minneapolis, MN, United States
Postdoctoral Associate
University of Minnesota, Division of Pulmonary Medicine, Department of Medicine
NIH funded postdoctoral position (full or part time) is available to study the mechanisms of pathogenesis of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) on extracellular matrix in the Division of Pulmonary Medicine, Department of Medicine at the University of Minnesota. Our research mainly focuses on the elucidation of the aberrant signaling pathways in fibrotic fibroblasts to find an effective therapeutic target to limit the progression of this disease.
Qualifications: The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. degree and should have experience and a strong background in molecular and cell biology. Prior experience with mouse genetics and fibroblasts is desirable. The successful candidate is expected to be highly motivated and should have the potential capability to conduct an independent research in the future.
Job responsibilities: He or she will perform experiments to elucidate the underlying mechanisms that confer a pathological IPF fibroblast phenotype on extracellular matrix using in vitro and in vivo methods. He or she will prepare 3D extracellular matrix and perform experiments using molecular and cell biology techniques.
Minimum Qualifications: A PhD in cell/molecular biology/infectious diseases or MD is required.
Preferred Qualifications: Previous training and experience in pulmonary or cardiovascular biology and/or mouse genetics are preferred.
Please send a CV, research interest statement, and contact information of three references to Dr Seonghun Nho at nhoxx002@umn.edu. Salary will be commensurate with relevant experience. …
