At SSE, you will find an interesting international research environment. As part of our competent and highly motivated research team, you will be involved in the development of innovative methods. You will also partially implement your methods and techniques and cooperate with our industrial partners to evaluate these methods. Our research activities are performed in close cooperation with well-known partners from industry and research in European as well as national research projects. In particular, you will have the following tasks: • Expansion and evolution of the research area Software Engineering • Partial coordination of research areas including supervision of other staff members • Conceptual planning of and application for new research projects • Management of work packages in European and national research projects • Publication of research results at internationally renowned scientific conferences and journals • Support of teaching activities The announced position of a Senior Researcher (salary classification TV-L 14) is initially offered for two years, but is extendable for another three years. The position provides also the opportunity to pursue further academic qualification.

About Us Paluno - The Ruhr-Institute for Software Technology - was founded in 2010. Paluno is an institute at the University of Duisburg-Essen. In paluno six professors and their teams join forces. With more than 70 academic staff members, paluno conducts application-oriented research on software development processes, requirements engineering, software services & SOA, software architectures, software product lines & variant management, safety & security, software platforms, mobile computing and user interface engineering.

Your Profile You have recently received or will receive an excellent PhD degree within the next three months in Computer Science, Applied Computer Science, (embedded) Software Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related area. You are creative, you enjoy working in a team, you are perceptive and you have good communication and analytical skills. It is appealing for you to collaborate with researchers and developers across different disciplines and in international settings. Experiences made in industry as well as in the areas of model driven software engineering and/or logistics are desired but not a prerequisite.
