CSIRO Materials Science and Engineering is seeking to appoint a highly motivated graduate who will take a substantive role in the computational design of next generation carbon-based nanomaterials. When strategically combined carbon nanostructures (including diamondoids, fullerenes, nanotubes, nanodiamond and graphene) to form hybrid structures or composites, the results can be greater than the sum of the parts. Each nanocarbon has unique properties to be exploited, and with an abundance of waste carbon for utilization, this field will see continued growth. In this project the candidate will enjoy freedom to explore some of this configuration space, and identify promising materials to focus the research.
