The Laboratory for Neuronal Specification at the Burke Medical Research Institute has an entry-level post-doctoral opportunity for an individual with interests in molecular and genetic regulation of adult neural stem cell differentiation. The goals for this project are to establish mechanisms that specify cell fates of neuroblasts generated in the subventricular zone. This project will also develop methods to apply this knowledge towards the directed differentiation of neural stem cells in order to produce neuronal progenitors suitable for translational clinical applications. The successful candidate will be highly motivated with a PhD in neurobiology or a related field and have experience with stereotaxic surgery, cell culture and molecular biology. Interested candidates should email a cover letter, research statement and CV to: jcave@burke.org
The Burke Medical Research Institute is located on an expansive sixty-acre campus in White Plains, New York and works in partnership with the Burke Rehabilitation Hospital and the Weill Cornell Medical College. The Institute's scientists explore the frontiers of rehabilitation medicine and strive to make scientific discoveries that will better the lives of those suffering from disability stemming from injury or illness.
