Highly motivated, organized individual sought for a position as a research fellow in a laboratory at the Life Sciences Institute of the University of Michigan. Research Project aims to identify targets that can be exploited therapeutically for the treatment of obesity and associated metabolic disorders, through regulating adaptive thermogenesis in brown and beige adipocytes.
Experimental duties will include but are not limited to:
Molecular biology, PCR, DNA and RNA purification, plasmid cloning, gene expression analysis by qPCR and western blotting. Mammalian cell culture with both immortalized cell lines and primary cell isolation and differentiation. Retroviral or adenoviral techniques are preferred. The research will involve genetic rodent models, so experience with mouse genetics and animal physiology is preferred.
Non-experimental duties will include but are not limited to:
Lab maintenance and organization
Required Qualifications:
Ph.D. in fields related to biomedical sciences, publications in high profile journals as a primary author and three experts in the related fields as references.
