摘要:
The successful candidate will primarily work on a large NIH funded clinical trial called The Lifestyle Interventions and Independence for Elders Study (The LIFE study: U01AG022376). The LIFE Study is a large randomized controlled trial that compares the efficacy of two lifestyle interventions–Physical Activity (PA) vs. Successful Aging Health Education (SA)—for improving mobility and physical function. Other longitudinal measurements include accelerometry, cognition, cardiopulmonary events, ankle-brachial index, sleep-wake disturbances and spirometry (For more information see: Fielding et al. PMID: 21825283). The study provides a vast resource for conducting secondary analyses on the health impact of physical activity in elders. The successful candidate will conduct analyses on existing data in the LIFE study and would be expected to be independent in conceiving exciting new analyses.
