Eligibility: PhD in a relevant discipline with up to 3 years (max.) relevant experience.
Post Duration: 32 months
Location: Teagasc Rural Economy Research Centre, Athenry, Co. Galway
Training Rate: The current PD1 scale is as follows: PD1: €33,975 (min.); €34,974; €36,003 (max.)
Basic Function of the post: The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the FLINT 7th Framework project. They will be responsible for:
- Collating a review on farm-level indicators, and working with European partners to develop and assess the feasibility of new indicators.
- Implementing data collection on a pilot network of farms in Ireland.
- Analysing and presenting the results of the project.
Background: The Teagasc post-doctoral programme provides training and development opportunities for early career scientists that enhances their experience of learning and equips them with the necessary skills for the next stage of their chosen career in research.
Person Specification
Essential
- PhD in Economics, Agricultural Economics, Agriculture, Agri-environment or a related discipline
- Relevant research experience not to exceed 3 years post-PhD
Desirable
- Experience in setting own research agenda
- Experience in micro-simulation and econometric modelling
