Grade 7: Salary in the range: £29,837 - £33,562 p.a.

The advanced study of molecular behaviour “bio-inspired supramolecular chemistry” is crucial to ongoing technology development, particularly in the fields of energy, diagnostics and medicine. We are developing unique insight into the interaction of molecules and applying this in a generic sense to system structure, dynamics and electronic properties. Our basic toolkit for this research is DNA, the most versatile and convenient of all functional supramolecular scaffolds, in which we have considerable expertise. This is a collaboration with Professor Bengt Norden at Chalmers University Gothenburg who has special expertise in the photophysics of complex molecules. Applicants for this Postdoctoral Researcher post should have a PhD in chemistry and expertise in one or more of the following areas: nucleic acid chemistry, biophysical studies (including fluorescence), molecular modelling.
