Postdoc in porcine cytotoxic T Cell immunology : Frederiksberg, Denmark
Postdoc in porcine cytotoxic T Cell immunology
The National Veterinary Institute (DTU Vet) invites applicants for a 2-year postdoc position at The Section of Immunology and Vaccinology. The focus of the position is on the characterization and quantification of cytotoxic T cell responses in porcine immunology with special reference to the use of pigs as a large animal model for human diseases and in the development of new vaccines tailored to induce a CTL response.
Responsibilities and tasks
Together with colleagues and collaborators from other institutes, universities and companies, the candidate is expected to advance the current state-of-the-art in porcine CTL immunology.
Research will focus on development and application of methods to improve the understanding of CTL induction and regulation with special relation to:
-Identify peptide-binding motifs of SLA-alleles by in vitro binding assays with synthetic peptides and recombinantly produced SLA molecules and by MS analysis of eluted peptides after in vivo binding
-Quantify peptide-specific effector CTL by IFN-γ ELISPOT or flow cytometry
-Use multimers of recombinantly produced SLA molecules to detail peptide-specific CTL by flow cytometry
-Development and use of methods to identify antigen epitopes bound by CD1 molecules
-Contribute to the design of new vaccines with enhanced CTL induction and validation of their efficacy.
The position is established in relation to a strategic initiative focused on using the pig as model for human disorders. It will involve collaborative research with leading Danish and International academic groups.
Qualifications
