Job Description
A post-doctoral fellow is immediately available for recent M.D., PhD or MD/PhD graduate in biomedical science. We have recently demonstrated that polyploid giant cancer cells (PGCCs) have properties of cancer stem-like cells (Zhang S et al, Oncogene, Mar 25, 2013) and thus opened a new field to investigate the biology and tumorigenic properties of giant cancer stem cells. The focus of research for this position will be on the cell division, differentiation, or angiogenesis involved in giant cancer stem cells. The candidate must have a track record of successful Ph.D. study and have documented high-impact publications in internationally peer-reviewed scientific journals) and great scientific English language skill. In addition to superb lab skills, the candidate must be able to think independently with a demonstrated ability to conduct independent scientific investigations. This position is open for someone who is interested in spending at least two years for this position and has the potential to develop into an independent investigator in an academic institute in US. The ideal candidate should be a recent graduate with no more than three years' previous post-doctoral experience. A strong background in cell biology, cancer biology, molecular biology, stem cell biology, and oncologic pathology is required. Candidate should provide a brief research plan on how to investigate the PGCCs and tumor development. The positions will be open until filled. |
