Job Description

Summary

Baylor College of Medicine and is part of the world-renowned Texas Medical Center located in Houston, Texas, which offers a highly interactive environment and a strong infrastructure for research and career development. We are seeking highly skilled and motivated scientists with expertise in cell and molecular biology, biochemistry, genomics, and/or mouse genetics to join the laboratory of Dr. Diana Monsivais, leading an endometrial biology group in the Department of Pathology & Immunology and member of the Center for Drug Discovery at Baylor College of Medicine.

Job Duties

·         Participates in early stage drug discovery in collaboration with scientists within the academic community, with a goal of bringing new treatments to patients with unmet medical needs.

·         Contributes to multidisciplinary lead-finding project teams by engaging in the following state-of-the art activities: production, purification, and/or testing of recombinant proteins; screening of DNA-encoded chemical libraries; evaluation of compounds for efficacy in vitro (biochemical and cell-based assays) and in vivo; validation of targets using mouse genetics; and/or generation of DNA vectors.

·         Uses genetically engineered mouse models, primary human tissues, 3-dimensional organoids, and high resolution microscopy to uncover the biological mechanisms that underpin endometrial regeneration.

·         Performs molecular biology and vector construction; mouse colony management, mammalian cell culture CRISPR/Cas9; and/or generation and analysis of mouse knockouts.

Minimum Qualifications

·         MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.

·         No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

·         Candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
