Context

Within the framework of a partnership:

the EIC Pathfinder Challenge, project VERIQUB

The researcher will be hosted by the Computer Science Department of the École normale supérieure (ENS), located in downtown Paris (5th arrondissement).

There are possibilities to extend the contract and there is flexibility for the starting date. Note that travel expenses are covered within the limits of 5k€/year.

Assignment

For a better knowledge of the proposed research subject:

Phase-space techniques provide a fruitful toolbox to analyse quantum information processing tasks, in particular for bosonic quantum systems. The contribution of the QAT team to the project VERIQUB focuses on such bosonic systems, with the objective to identify the key resources for bosonic quantum computations, allowing their meaningful scale-up.

Collaboration:

The recruited person will be in connection with the P.I. Ulysse Chabaud, as well as members of the QAT team.

Main activities

The successful applicant is expected to:

- employ phase-space techniques to develop quantum resource theories for bosonic systems; - develop their own research in relation with other members of the team; - interact with a strong network of researchers at the French and European level by taking part in large research collaborations; - take part to the development of the research expertise of PhD students.

Skills

We are looking for creative and talented physicists/mathematicians/computer scientists with expertise on quantum information theory and phase-space techniques in particular.
