A position is available to study the connections between developmental growth control and neuronal differentiation. We have identified Drosophila genes that function during neuronal differentiation, neuronal cell cycle withdrawal, and the elimination of non-functional cells. Our goal is to characterize the roles of these genes at the molecular, cellular, and genomic level, and understand the integration of developmental patterning with growth.

The ideal candidate should be highly motivated with a PhD or equivalent. Experience in global analysis of gene expression, molecular genetics, live imaging of tissues, or in Drosophila genetics may be an advantage. We are located in a residential suburb of New York City.
