The Department of Aerospace and Ocean Engineering at Virginia Tech invites applications for FIVE tenure-track/tenured faculty positions, beginning in August 2016, in the following areas:

• Cyber-physical security of aerospace and ocean systems
• Experimental space physics and spacecraft engineering
• Hydrodynamics
• Ocean structures, materials, or manufacturing
• Ocean vehicle dynamics and control

The positions will be filled, depending upon qualifications, at the rank of assistant or associate professor. We are searching for exceptional candidates who will develop both a world-class research program and innovative educational opportunities for our students. The successful applicant will contribute to the Department’s Aerospace and Ocean Engineering Programs and demonstrate enthusiasm for collaborative and interdisciplinary research. Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate instruction, specialized graduate education, sponsored research, and scholarly work. The AOE Department is comprised of 25 faculty members, with approximately 165 full-time graduate students and 450 undergraduate students.
