Post-doctoral Fellow - Aging and Metabolism (H. Lim) : Oklahoma City, OK, United States
The Lim Lab is seeking a Post-doctoral Fellow or Staff Scientist to study the novel genes and pathways involved in the regulation of energy metabolism, reactive oxygen species signaling and heart development and function, using a combination of genetic, biochemistry and functional imaging approaches. The research will involve working with a multi-disciplinary group of collaborators in the Aging and Metabolism Program at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (omrf.org). The lab also shares strong collaborations with other labs at OMRF and the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in the areas of energy metabolism, mitochondrial biology and aging. The Aging and Metabolism Program is committed to training postdoctoral fellows for scientific career advancement. Candidates must have a strong scientific background, particularly in Drosophila genetics, molecular biology, metabolism). Candidates must have proficiency in verbal and written English. The position is available immediately.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D., M.D., or comparable doctoral degree at the time of the appointment.

Physical Demands Regularly required to stand, use manual dexterity, talk or hear; Frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms; occasionally sit; frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Potential exposure to fumes, airborne particles, or rodent dander. May work with toxic, caustic chemicals, radioactive materials, liquid nitrogen, human tissue or blood. Potential risk of electrical shock. Occasional exposure to cold 4C, and/or extreme cold -80C from freezers. Noise level is usually moderate.
