Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Robotics : Oxford, United Kingdom

We are seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join the Mobile Robotics group at the Department of Engineering Science (central Oxford). The post is funded by the EU and is fixed-term until 30 September 2016.

The successful applicant will work on the Europa 2 project. This project is part of a collaboration with research groups at Frieberg, Leuven, ETHZ and Geoto (a href="http://europa.informatik.uni-freiburg.de"target="_blank">http://europa.informatik.uni-freiburg.de). 

The project aims to development a pedestrian-assist robot. You will be responsible for undertaking and Oxford’s contribution. You will have a highly technical role requiring the research and development of computer vision, planning and scene understanding techniques. You will also have the responsibility of executing the requirements for EU project reporting. 

Applicants should have a PhD in a relevant discipline, a strong background in robotics, programming, machine learning and computer vision and experience in validation of algorithms, using real data, and the ability to work to deadlines are also essential.
