Postdoc Positions in Medicial Chemistry at the University of Southern Denmark : Odense, Denmark

One or more postdoctoral research associate positions in medicinal chemistry are available for two years from 1 September 2015 on a project directed towards discovery and development of ligands for free fatty acid receptors, including FFA4 (also known as GPR120) and FFA1 (GPR40) that are new targets of high interest for treatment of metabolic and inflammatory diseases. The positions will involve design of drug candidates and synthesis of these, including design of synthetic routes and development of synthetic methods, evaluation of physicochemical properties and structure-activity relationship analysis.

The successful candidates will have a PhD in organic chemistry or medicinal chemistry, broad and well-documented experience with organic synthesis and expert lab skills, insight in drug design and drug-like properties, excellent collaboration and management skills, and excellent oral and written English communication skills. Experience with previous projects related to drug discovery and/or with molecular modelling will be regarded as relevant and important qualifications.
