美国北卡罗来纳大学端粒生物学研究博士后职位
Postdoctoral Research Associate : Chapel Hill, NC, United States
Postdoctoral positions are available to study telomere biology or germ cell immortality in the laboratory of Shawn Ahmed in the Department of Genetics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The goal of the telomere biology project is to leverage the unique strengths of the C. elegans to understand how telomeres function and how they might interact with pathways that affect stress response and aging in metazoans, possibly creating insights that might be difficult to obtain in any other experimental system. We also have a project that concerns germ cell immortality, or how germ cells maintain themselves in a pristine, immortal condition over the generations. We are considering seminal experiments relevant to germ cell immortality that could transform our understanding of heredity and of how aging and diseases of somatic cells are regulated by gametes.
