Postdoctoral Research Scientist in Cardiovascular Biology
Fixed term post on Grade 7: £30,434 to £31,342 (starting salary on one of the first two points on the scale)

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Scientist to join Professor Paul Riley’s laboratory to work on a project investigating the niche-like microenvironment of the epicardium and its role in signalling to facilitate heart regeneration.

You must hold, or be near completion of a PhD in a relevant area of research. You must have experience in working with animal models, to include background expertise in mammalian heart development and adult cardiovascular biology. You will have excellent communication and organization skills and the ability to communicate findings in a scholarly manner. The ability to actively participate in scholarly meetings is essential in this post.

Your duties will include utilising laboratory techniques, protocols, methodologies and equipment as required to complete studies. Your role will include undertaking comprehensive and systematic literature reviews and writing up the results for publication in peer-reviewed journals. Also you will collaborate in the preparation of scientific reports, journal articles and the presentation of papers and posters at conferences.

This post will be funded for up to 3-years by the BIRAX Foundation. The post-holder will be based predominantly at the Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics, Sherrington Building, Parks Road, Oxford, OX1 3PT.
