摘要:

Postdoctoral Researcher in Signal Transduction and Metabolism in Cancer

Description

The David Nathanson Lab in the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated postdoctoral researcher in signal transduction and metabolism in cancer. The Nathanson Lab is a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary environment for translational cancer research. The Principal Investigator's work in this field has been published in prestigious journals such as Science, Cancer Discovery, and PNAS. Applicants should have extensive experience and knowledge in signal transduction and/or metabolism in cancer. A strong publication record and communication skills are also required.

Responsibilities

The postdoctoral candidate will be involved in highly collaborative, translational research to develop new strategies to targeting Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM), the most lethal brain tumor in adults. This will consist of interrogating the cross-talk between altered signal transduction and metabolic processes and examining mechanisms of resistance to targeted therapies in GBM.

Qualifications:

• Ph.D in molecular biology, pharmacology, or related field with extensive knowledge and experience in signal transduction and/or metabolism in cancer
• Experience working with mice, including transplantation, drug administration (intraperitoneal, intravenous, and oral gavage)
• Strong molecular biology skill-set, including cell culture, PCR, RT-PCR, Western blot, cloning
• LC-MS experience preferred for quantitative metabolic measurements
• Effective communication skills, self-motivated, and strong work ethic
• Ability to work independently and in a group/collaborative environment
