摘要:

The European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) is one of the highest ranked scientific research organisations in the world. The Headquarters Laboratory is located in Heidelberg (Germany), with additional sites in Grenoble (France), Hamburg (Germany), Hinxton (UK) and Monterotondo (Italy).

We are looking for an outstanding, highly motivated Postdoctoral fellow to develop genetic approaches to study the functional relevance of protein phosphorylation. This post is part of an ERC funded interdisciplinary research project coordinated by the Beltrao group at the European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI). The work will take place at the Genome Biology unit at the EMBL in Heidelberg.

The Beltrao group is interested in studying the molecular sources of phenotypic novelties. Within the broad scope of this evolutionary problem the group is developing methods to study the function, specificity and evolution of post-translational regulatory networks. More details can be found at http://www.ebi.ac.uk/beltrao. The successful candidate will be part of a team that will develop an interdisciplinary approach to dissect the functional relevance of protein phosphorylation in yeast. The candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of genetic approaches that will complement computational and proteomics studies ongoing in the group.
Qualifications and Experience

The successful applicant must hold a PhD in yeast genetics and strong expertise in molecular biology and genetics of budding yeast are required. Previous experience in the following topics are considered an advantage: biochemistry, large-scale fitness measurements, generation of mutant libraries. The postholder should enjoy working in a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary environment.
