Postdoctoral Fellow : Cleveland, OH, United States

A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. K. P. Connie Tam at the Department of Ophthalmic Research, Cleveland Clinic Cole Eye Institute and Lerner Research Institute. Our lab is interested in the novel and expanding roles of cytoskeletal keratins in epithelial innate immunity. Current projects include studying the mechanisms of keratin-derived antimicrobial peptide synthesis and activity in corneal epithelial cells and the regulatory pathways involved (JCI, 122(10):3665-3677). Projects in our lab employ cell and molecular biology techniques, biochemical assays, fluorescence and live cell imaging, and rodent disease models. Candidates should hold a recent PhD degree with a strong background in cell biology, cell signaling or immunology. Previous experience with mouse models of human diseases is highly desirable. Candidates must also be self-motivated, productive, diligent, well organized, competent in scientific presentation/writing and have the ability to work independently and collaboratively. To apply, please send a cover letter detailing your experience, achievements and research interests, an updated CV, and contact information for three references to Dr. K. P. Connie Tam at tamk@ccf.org….
