Description: The faculty mentor for this position will be Dr.RONALD N LARIBEE. The Laribee lab at UTHSC seeks to recruit postdoctoral fellow for an NIH-funded project in gene regulation, chromatin biology, and target of rapamycin (TOR) signaling. The laboratory currently uses budding yeast and will eventually develop human cell culture models to define mechanisms by which the TOR signaling pathway regulates gene transcription and epigenetic processes controlling cell growth and proliferation. Recent publications from our laboratory include: PNAS 104: 5836-5841, 2007; PLoS ONE 6(3):e18302, 2011; Nucleic Acids Research 40(14):6534-46, 2012; Epigenetics & Chromatin 6(1):29, 2013.
Qualifications: Applicants must have a PhD and/or MD, be fluent in both spoken and written English, and have a background in molecular biology and biochemistry. An emphasis in gene regulatory mechanisms or signal transduction will be considered a major asset
Salary will be commensurate with relevant experience and based on the prevailing wage for postdoctoral research trainees set by the U.S. Department of Labor.
