Candidates are expected to work on the biology of adipose-derived stromal/progenitor cells in aging and caloric restriction (Mitterberger et al., Stem Cell Res;2012,9:35-48; Mitterberger et al., J Gerontol A Biol Sci Med Sci.;2014,69:13-24; Mitterberger et al., Exp Gerontol;2014,56:106-13.) (BIO-8365), the role of a newly identified mammalian oxaloacetate decarboxylase enzyme in metabolic regulation and aging, using cell culture and animal models (Pircher et. al., (2015) J Biol Chem.;290:6755-62), (BIO-8385).
The positions are available for 4 years and candidates are expected to contribute to teaching activities at the faculty of biology. Candidates are expected to hold a doctorate in life sciences and have substantial experience and a track record in biomedical research; a proven track record for acquisition of third-party funding is desirable. Candidates should be highly motivated team players with good communication skills, knowledge of German language at high level is desirable.
