The Materials Research Science and Engineering Center at Columbia University / City College of New York is seeking a MRSEC postdoctoral research scientist in the area of van der Waals heterostructures — novel materials and devices created by stacking of diverse two-dimensional layered materials. The postdoc will initiate and perform research in areas including creation of these heterostructures, and characterization of structural, electronic, vibrational, and optical properties. In addition, will help to organize interdisciplinary research teams and other Center activities.

Job Requirements
PhD in Materials Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or other relevant fields. Experience in working with two-dimensional materials preferred but not required. Strong expertise in relevant research techniques such as nanofabrication, materials characterization, electronic device characterization, and / or optical spectroscopy.
