Postdoctoral Fellow in Metabolomics : Lund, Sweden
Job assignments
The successful candidate will play a central role in the project "metabolomics as a tool to study the impact of antidiabetic food". The project will be performed at the Center for Analysis and Synthesis (www.kilu.lu.se/cas), in collaboration with Anti Diabetic Food Center (AFC, a VINN EXCELLENCE Centre in Research and Innovation at Lunds Universitet).
The project involves the use of metabolomics to study unique and shared alterations in the metabolite profile elicited by various foods and nutrients with beneficial effects on health. Liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry (UHPLC/QTOF) and gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC/QQQ) will be used to investigate alterations in hydrophilic metabolites and lipids in blood plasma after meal tolerance tests and interventions.
The employee is expected to deliver results in ongoing and finalized food studies on metabolomics platforms allready established in the lab, but also to develop these platforms to include methods for targeted analysis of various metabolite classes. The person is expected to work with the project PI, but also with researchers within associated food projects. Furthermore, the person is expected to take the initiative needed to ensure progress in the projects. The appointment is one year with possible extension upon successful delivery of results within the projects conducted in the first year
