A postdoctoral position is immediately available in Dr. Kunal Rai’s laboratory in the Department of Genomic Medicine at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Our lab focuses on understanding the role of epigenome in cancer progression. We take functional genomic approaches to identify epigenetic regulators that play important roles in cancer progression and define mechanisms using biochemical and genetic approaches. We utilize variety of model systems including primary/cancer cells, transgenic mouse models and zebrafish. To define chromatin states associated with different stages of cancer progression, we employ cutting-edge epigenomic technologies such as high-throughput ChIP-Sequencing. We are seeking recently graduated candidates with a doctoral degree and less than 2 years of postdoctoral experience, with a solid understanding of cancer biology or epigenetics and with at least one first author publication in a high quality journal. Prior experience working with mice or epigenomic technologies is preferred, but not required. A high degree of written and oral communication skills in English is essential.
