A postdoctoral fellow position is immediately available for a highly motivated recent PhD or MD/PhD graduate in cancer biology, genetics or molecular/cell biology. We have recently defined the shared transcriptome between seeming normal airway cells close to a lung tumor and the lung tumor itself, an effect we refer to as field cancerization and that is highly pertinent to lung cancer development. The focus of research for this position will be to investigate the role of the airway field cancerization concept in lung cancer development using a novel transgenic mouse model for lung cancer and molecular biology approaches that include high-throughput “omics” techniques.
