摘要:

Research Technician

King's College London - Department of Developmental Neurobiology

We are seeking a part-time (17.5 hours per week) research technician to pursue a 3 year project in the laboratory of Dr. Robert Hindges at the MRC Centre for Developmental Neurobiology, King’s College London, in a project funded by the MRC. The project seeks to understand the roles of a family of transmembrane proteins, Teneurins, in the structural and functional generation of neural circuits in the vertebrate brain. The postholder will be responsible for mouse/fish husbandry and breeding and work together with a postdoc to perform experiments in the project. Other duties will involve microinjection of zebrafish embryos, routine molecular biology tasks, such as PCR genotyping, and maintenance of laboratory stocks and equipment.

The candidate will have a biosciences BSc or MSc, preferably with some neuroscience background. Experience in mouse husbandry, as well as general molecular biology techniques (PCR, cloning,..) is preferred. Additional experience in the zebrafish model system is desirable but not essential. Independence, motivation, good communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team are required. Training will be given in all aspects of the project and the candidate will benefit from the vibrant and collaborative research environment of King’s.

For an informal discussion of the post please contact Dr Robert Hindges at robert.hindges@kcl.ac.uk
