Postdoc in Theory and Simulation of the Physics and Chemistry of Artificial Life
The Center for Fundamental Living Technology (FLinT) at the Department of Physics, Chemistry and Pharmacy, University of Southern Denmark, Odense, offers a two year postdoctoral position starting 1 January 2015 or as soon as possible thereafter.
We are looking for a theorist/computational modeller with a keen interest and/or expertise in experimental work. The applicant must have documented experience with state-of-the-art of e.g. molecular, soft-matter, artificial life, or systems level modelling as well as more abstract complex systems techniques. Furthermore, the desirable candidate is familiar with state-of-the-art in one or more of the following areas: MEMS component physics/functionalities/programmability, microfluidics, miniature robotics, 3D printing or related laboratory activities.
To qualify for the position applicants must have a PhD in theoretical/computational physics, chemistry, engineering, computer science or related competencies, and have a strong track record of published peer reviewed papers (depending on years out of graduate school). Previous experiences working in a team with a strong experimental engagement is highly desirable, as your work at the FLinT center will occur in close collaboration with chemists, engineers and theorists.
