A postdoctoral training position is available in the laboratory of Patricia Kiley, University of Wisconsin. Highly motivated individuals interested in advancing their expertise in Microbial Systems or Synthetic Biology by conducting research projects associated with the Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center and the Wisconsin Energy Institute at UW Madison should apply. The project will involve systems analysis of microbial growth, stress, and metabolism during conversion of plant-derived complex media to biofuels and/or metabolic and gene expression engineering of strains for optimal conversion.
Graduate training in bacterial molecular genetics, and expertise in modern microbial metabolism, biochemistry, or gene expression is preferred. Selection criteria will include authorship of publications and interest in working in a highly collaborative group.
