A position is available immediately in the Brain Tumor Center and Department of Neurosurgery at The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center. The position involves basic research in the areas of glial cell biology and the use of mouse models to study how glial cells regulate angiogenesis in the developing brain and retina. The post-doc will develop expertise in the use of zebrafish and mouse models as well as in vitro culture systems to study cell adhesion and signaling pathways involved in glial-endothelial cell communication. A strong background in molecular biology, cell biology and vertebrate genetic models is preferred but not necessary.
