Specific questions pertain molecular mechanisms of heart failure, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and atrial fibrillation as well as the development of new therapies. The department is involved in the Cardiovascular Research Center Hamburg (founding partner 2008), the DZHK (German Centre for Cardiovascular Research, founded 2011), the EU-funded network Biodesign (2012 – 2015), the LeDucq Transatlantic Networks of Excellence „Protein Toxicity“ (L. Carrier).

The post will involve collaboration with a wide range of academic partners within Germany, the EU and worldwide.
