A postdoctoral research associate position is available in the Psychology department at Durham University working with Dr Alison Lane on an Academic Health Science Network (AHSN) funded project. The post is fixed term and is available starting on the 1st of November 2014 for a period of 8 months.

Alison Lane and colleagues have been developing a computer-based rehabilitation program to assist individuals with visual loss after brain injury. The research associate will be responsible for the distribution of this training within the NHS and the role provides an exciting opportunity to be involved in the clinical applications of research. The post-holder will be expected to independently establish and maintain a national network of suitable contacts within the NHS, promote and demonstrate the training package, gather feedback on its use and produce reports accordingly. The successful candidate therefore needs to be comfortable working independently and have excellent communication skills that will allow them to work with a variety of healthcare professionals.

Requirements

This is a full time Research Associate position and prospective candidates will be expected to possess, or should have completed at the time of appointment, a PhD in Psychology or a related subject. Previous experience working in a clinical setting is desirable.
