Job Description

A Postdoctoral Position is available in the lab of Dr. Zhong-Wei Zhang to study brain development and developmental brain disorders. Dr. Zhang’s lab is interested in functional development of neuronal circuits in the brain. The areas of focus are: 1) developmental refinement of excitatory synapses (PNAS, 2013; J. Neurosci. 2011, 2008; J. Physiol. 2011, 2006); 2) neuronal mechanisms underlying autism spectrum disorders (J. Neurosci. 2014; J. Neurophysiol. 2010). We use a variety of experimental approaches, including mouse genetics, cellular electrophysiology, anatomy, optogenetics, and behavioral analysis to study development and function of excitatory and inhibitory circuits in the thalamus and neocortex.
